Lake of Tears Ghana is a compelling graphic novel that delves into the harrowing realities of child trafficking within Ghana’s hazardous inland fishing industry. Through vivid illustrations and a gripping narrative, we aim to raise awareness and inspire action against this pressing issue.

Our Story

Set against the backdrop of Lake Volta, one of the world’s largest artificial lakes, the novel follows the journey of three teenagers who find themselves ensnared in the exploitative fishing trade. Their story is a poignant reflection of the estimated 49,000 children living and working on Lake Volta, many of whom are trafficked and subjected to grueling labor Circumspecte.
